Sergio Haisch is a designer and self-taught artist, born in La Paz, Bolivia currently living and working in Oslo.
Sergio’s figurative oil painting is inspired by photography film negatives, inverted into raw unnatural shades of colour, and digital photo manipulation of colour hues and values.
The subjects are placed in contexts that range from the urban to the ethereal; and the limited but vibrant colour palette is used as an exploration of the viewers perception of light, shadow and space. The simplicity of the motivs and composition comes directly from a design and advertising background; and the traditional materials, oil on both board and canvas, serve to give rich texture and vibrance to the imagery.
